About - The LCD reader is unique. The main visible face of the reader is a full color backlit LCD screen. The LCD screen can be configured to display images of the customer’s choice. For example, an image using a company name/logo could be used on each reader around a site. Different images can be displayed when a user is permitted or denied access. The different uses for this reader are endless.
A Net2Air USB dongle (Sales code 380-592-US) is required to upload custom images to the reader.
Installation - The LCD reader is surface mounted onto the wall using the backplate and fixings provided. Fix the mounting plate to the wall and slide the reader onto the plate, ensuring the retaining pin clicks into position. The cable exits centrally from the back of the reader making drilling and mounting simple. The reader is suitable for use with Switch2 and Net2 systems and is wired using the color coding on the control unit label.
The USB dongle connects to a PC or laptop and allows you to wirelessly upload images using the simple application. Wireless range is approximately 16ft. between dongle and reader.
Operation - A token is read by holding it within close proximity of the reader. Once a token has been read the control unit looks up the access permissions of that user. Access is granted or denied as appropriate. If access is granted the designated image, for example "Welcome" will be displayed. If access is denied the image assigned, for example "Contact Security" will be displayed.
