A Closer Look at the State-Of-The-Art Paxton Electronics Centre

24th January 2024 – Brighton

At the end of last year, we officially opened the doors to our new Brighton-based manufacturing facility, the Paxton Electronics Centre. In this blog, Tom Saunders, our Facilities Manager, talks about engineering technology, culture, and how the new facility supports Paxton’s future goals.

Paxton Electronics Centre in detail:

  • Surface mount and wave solder production lines
  • 10,000 printed circuit boards are produced per week
  • Glass wall meeting rooms
  • Fitness room: 2 exercise bikes, 2 elliptical trainers, 1 rowing machine
  • Shower rooms
  • Modern kitchen
  • Sea view sun deck
  • Outdoor lounge
  • 96 solar panels

Tom said: “We have designed the Paxton Electronics Centre to increase our production capacity to meet the growing demand for our smart security systems and products.

“The centre also further enhances our ability to offer world-class company culture and top-level on-site facilities to the professional teams that make Paxton the leading technology brand it is today.”

The Paxton Electronics Centre is a two-storey building, covering a total floor area of approximately 14,600 square feet. The ground floor of the building is the production area where our manufacturing lines and equipment are housed whilst the mezzanine floor consists of lounge areas, a gym, and collaboration spaces.

Tom explains: “When designing the Electronics Centre, we considered feedback from our employees of wanting more outdoor spaces and a fitness room. A large space on the ground floor is set aside for outdoor purposes, and a terrace is built on the first floor, set up with garden furniture.”

We also made effort in reducing our carbon footprint by installing solar panels on the roof of the Electronics Centre.

Tom said: “We have installed a total of 96 solar panels on the Electronics Centre, which account for nearly 460 square metres. This is a great first step introducing renewable energy to our facilities, and we are keen to install more panels in the future.

“Every time we invest in one more panel, that’s more solar energy we produce and our carbon footprint reduced which is exactly what we want.”
