Paxton Access 5 Year Warranty
We are delighted to announce that the warranty on most of our products is five years from the date of manufacture. We intend that this warranty be in plain English, in large print and very clear to all. Should you have any problem understanding it, or think that it is ambiguous in any way, please let us know.
Why we're doing it
Paxton Access is very proud of our product quality and believe our products are among the best in the industry. Notwithstanding, we thought it would be good to set forth the terms of this warranty for all our customers to demonstrate how we stand behind our products. Our customers include our distributors and customers who have purchased our products from our distributors.
PRODUCTS SUBJECT TO THE WARRANTY
The Paxton Access warranty [runs in favor of the original customer and] warrants that the Paxton Access products will be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of five years from the date of manufacture, subject to the terms and conditions stated below. Proximity keyfobs carry a lifetime warranty against failure in normal use.
Details of the warranty
Paxton Access will repair, replace or recondition at its option any of the products subject to the warranty. As an alternative (which will usually be reserved for customers outside the UK) Paxton Access will have the option of providing a credit for the cost of the equipment (determined as the amount Paxton Access actually received in connection with such equipment). Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this warranty, the foregoing is customer’s exclusive remedy under this warranty.
Unless some other arrangement has been confirmed by Paxton Access in writing, the warranty is subject to the product being returned suitably packaged to Paxton Access for testing. A note should be enclosed explaining the fault and giving a name and telephone number of a person who understands the fault found with the product. The 5 year warranty applies to products bought after January 1, 2000. Note that the mechanical failure warranty may be further limited by the maximum number of operations for any item of equipment where this is specified.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Paxton Access’ maximum liability for the failure of any item of equipment will be the amount that Paxton Access actually received from the sale of such equipment. This does not exclude any statutory obligation.
This warranty does not apply to products: (i) improperly used or used for purposes for which they were not designed or intended; (ii) improperly installed or damaged during installation; (iii) improperly maintained, repaired or modified, (iv) damaged due to fire or lightning, inappropriate electrical loading or other mis-use; (v) damaged during a burglary, theft, robbery or other intentional or willful act; (vi) improperly stored or subjected to improper temperature, humidity or environmental conditions; (vii) that have exceeded the maximum number of operations specified by Paxman Access (an example of a maximum number of operations is the head of a CARDLOCK magnetic stripe reader which is rated for 1,000,000 swipes); or (viii) damaged through any other misuse, negligence or accident.
Other specific exclusions from the warranty may be obtained from Paxton Access.
NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER DAMAGES
This warranty does not cover and under no circumstances will Paxton Access accept liability for: (i) labor costs including, but not limited to, costs or removal and/or reinstallation of products; (ii) shipping and freight charges required; and (iii) consequential, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or enhanced damages arising out of or relating to the failure of its equipment or services. The warranty is limited to the value of the equipment as stated above.
Except for the express warranties set forth above, Paxton Access makes no warranty whatsoever with respect to the products, including any (a) warranty of merchantability or (b) warranty of fitness for a particular purpose; whether arising by law, course of dealing, course of performance, usage of trade, or otherwise. Customer acknowledges that it has not relied upon any representation or warranty made by Paxton Access, or any other person on Paxton Access’ behalf, except as specifically provided in this warranty.
