About – Hands-free access control means the keyfob that identifies a user is read from within a pocket or handbag. This is useful for loading doors and where disabled or elderly people require access

Installation – Hands-free keyfobs will work as a standard keyfob with all proximity readers. When installing a system, the first keyfob pack is added by presenting the Enrolment card from that pack. Subsequent packs are added by presenting the original Enrolment card followed by the Enrolment card from the new pack.

Operation

The hands-free keyfobs are supplied packaged with a corresponding shadow card. Once enrollment is complete all keyfobs are valid and ready to be issued. To issue a user keyfob, remove it from the package and write the name of the user on its corresponding shadow card. The user may now use their keyfob to gain access. Repeat this process for all users. If a card needs to be invalidated, present the corresponding shadow card to the relevant readers on the site. This invalidates the keyfob.

The hands-free keyfobs work in active and passive modes and will give a range of up to 5m with the long-range reader. They work in passive mode with all other Paxton proximity readers.
