Energy Saving Paxton Systems in Action
HARP is a Southend-based charity funded by donations that provides emergency housing and long-term solutions, enabling people to rebuild their lives and live independently in the community. Housing up to 122 people at any one time, the charity needed a way to run their sites cost-efficiently. Using our PaxLock products, they were able to prevent energy wastage with battery-operated access control, using no mains power. With Net2 Energy Saving Readers in every room, all electricity and lighting would be powered down when residents leave, minimising energy costs.

Software
Automatically switch off power using Triggers & Actions
With Net2 access control software, administrators can easily create rules based on system events, which can ensure all utilities are switched off when a building is empty, reducing energy wastage. As the last person on site leaves at the end of the day, the system can be set to register this and turn off lights, heating & air con as desired. This can make a real difference to a building’s efficiency and energy bills.

Control use of appliances and equipment using the Energy Saving Reader
The readers are specially designed with a cover to retain a user card and can act like a power switch. When a card is entered it toggles a relay that switches on all connected equipment. When the card is removed, the relay toggles back, turning all equipment off. This means that only a user with the appropriate card and permissions can power up certain machinery and appliances, putting you in complete control of usage.

Simple low power, wireless door handle with PaxLock Pro
Our wireless door handles have been efficiently designed to operate in low power mode when not in use which saves energy across a building. When a user approaches, a capacitive sensor will detect their token, waking the system up ready for action. The battery-powered units run independently from mains power, minimising electricity usage. This is a great solution for energy-conscious sites also looking for minimal disruption with wireless access control.
