Job Overview

Join our IT team based in our Brighton office working in a fast-paced busy environment, where you will play a key role within the IT department. You will take responsibility for the effective installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure and ensuring the technology infrastructure that supports Paxton staff in the completion of their duties is appropriate and robust.

This is a new position due to Paxton’s continued growth which will include you working on exciting projects and be involved in a number of new office set ups and more.

Job role

  • Ensure the maximum availability of the computer systems throughout the Company, participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the IT infrastructure.
  • Assume responsibility for the provision of IT services including desktop applications, local and/or wide area networks, IT security and telecommunications, and to liaise with third party companies over repairs and support as required.
  • Develop and implement new systems and provide input into IT strategy, budget definition and operational processes.
  • Carry out the installation of hardware and software as required, ensuring license compliance is adhered to.
  • Undertake second and third line support across the entire IT infrastructure, delivering IT services to defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Ensure all IT asset movements are recorded in the extranet correctly and where appropriate to inform the Finance team of fixed assets.
  • Oversee computer security and anti-virus updates.
  • Ensure data is backed up on a regular basis and produce systems related documentation as necessary.

 

Requirements

  • Some experience working in 2nd/3rd Line IT Support is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft systems and software with a good understanding of virtualisation technologies
  • A good understanding of LAN / WAN technology and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Cisco switches and PALO ALTO Firewalls
  • Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and openness to change
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work with minimal supervision.
