Job Overview
Join our busy IT team based in our Brighton office where you will play a key role in the continued maintenance, support, and development of Paxton’s IT infrastructure. You will be assisting business users, ensuring the technology infrastructure that supports them in the completion of their duties is appropriate and robust. As part of a small team, you will work with great autonomy to deliver outstanding and consistent levels of support in a fluid and high-pressure multi-site environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone that has either some experience working in IT or has training in CompTIA A+ looking to develop their skills.
Job role
- Assist with the administration of the company’s IT infrastructure, maintaining helpdesk ticket records for all assigned faults and issues, providing first line support in hardware, commercial applications and network issues and requests.
- Liaise with third party companies over repairs and support as required and maintain appropriate stocks of computer consumables.
- Carry out the installation of hardware and software as required, ensuring the licence compliance is adhered to.
- Provide end user coaching with regard to PC based packages such as Word, Excel, etc.
- Undertake any IT project based work that is within scope of expertise.
- Carry out user and system administration as required and handle any other reasonable ad-hoc duties that are requested.
- Carry out and take responsibility for the daily backup routines and their validation.
- Ensure all IT asset movements are recorded in the extranet correctly and where appropriate, inform the Finance team of fixed assets.
Requirements
- Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and openness to change.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and operating systems.
- A good understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration.
- A basic understanding of network troubleshooting.
- Some experience working on a helpdesk or in telephone support or training in CompTIA A+ would.
