Paxton10 v4.2 Software Update
This latest update to the Paxton10 system delivers significant improvements to the user experience. Paxton10 v4.2 combines all the improvement, bug fixes and feature enhancements from the previous 10 service releases, in one update.
Paxton10 v4.1 Service Release 10
Key Release changes:
Controller updates
- The controller firmware update mechanism has been improved to increase reliability
PaxLock
- Fixed an issue that caused PaxLocks to stop receiving a database after a software update
- Further improvements to stability and reliability of PaxLock
UI
- When there is one item left in a group, it can now be moved successfully to another
- The right click menu will no longer be obscured by the device panel in certain situations
- Fixed an issue where a site plan may not appear correctly in a dashboard until the widget is resized or the dashboard is saved
- Further consistency improvements within the software
Add User Widget
- The additional ‘First name’, ‘Last name’ and ‘Email address’ have been removed for clarity
Other
- Fixed an issue that caused footage to record to the video controllers SD card

Dashboard Widgets
- An ‘Add new user’ widget has been added, enabling you to add a new user while viewing a dashboard
- A Favourites widget has been added, enabling you to access your favourites when viewing a dashboard
- A Clock widget has been added, enabling you to view the time when viewing a dashboard
Controllers
- Improvements to the download of the database to controllers have been made ensuring controllers have the latest user access information

Key Release changes:
PaxLock
- Discovery and binding process has been reworked to improve reliability and stability
- There will now be no more than ten PaxLocks bound to each wireless connector
- Improvements have been made to the database ensuring a much-improved experience when using PaxLocks
- When a PaxLock is bound, it will now bind to the wireless connector with the strongest signal
Mobile app
- Swiping from left to right when in timeline view for a camera will now take you back to the dashboard/video report
- The ‘Jump back’ button has been added to the mobile UI when viewing video
- The ‘Snap to motion’ button has been added to the mobile UI when viewing video
Other
- Resolved issue that stopped you from restoring backups using the Safari web browser

Key Release changes:
Cameras
- Fixed an issue that prevented third party cameras from displaying properly without an internet connection
Smart Credentials
- The Smart Credential import process now works correctly again
- In some languages, the Smart Credential email did not include the registration code, this has been fixed
Options & Manage Hardware
- The Options and Hardware Management icons have been updated to be more easily differentiated from each other
- The Options modal has been redesigned to be consistent with the rest of the software
- Fixed an issue that caused hardware to fail to expand in Manage Hardware
- The master controller tooltip now displays correctly in all languages
Other
- Fixed an issue that was causing the Roll Call report to duplicate users
- When adding a Custom Day, the save button will now be correctly disabled once any changes have been saved
- In site plans, when removing devices, the treeview will now be updated correctly
- Removed additional lines around the username on the homescreen

Mobile app
- Fixed an issue that caused live and archived video to not display on iOS15 devices

- Fixed an issue that caused archive not to load when viewing a multiple Paxton10 camera report
- Fixed an issue which caused the sensitivity of motion detection to appear to save if the user left the page without saving

- Improvements have been made to the reader, fixing an issue which caused them to stop reading tokens (including Smart Credentials) until power cycled

Custom Rules
- Fixed an issue that could cause actions set to affect doors, to fail
Intruder Alarm
- Changes made to the Bluetooth operating mode of an arm reader will now be retained
- Fixed an issue that was causing Smart Credentials to fail when arming the intruder alarm
Smart Credentials
- The Smart Credential email has been given a new look
- An issue causing the Register button on the email not to work has been fixed
Video Reports
- The ‘Jump back’ button in video reports now behaves consistently regardless of whether snap to motion is enabled or not
User Interface
- The System Activity graph on the home screen will now display the correct information
- Fixed a minor issue causing additional blank space to appear when editing time profiles
- Fixed an issue that caused text to overlap a table when viewing SD card status in the Dutch language
- Fixed an issue which caused the door icon to display incorrectly in several areas of the software

Hardware Management
Binding and Discovery
- Overall consistency improvements when binding and unbinding devices
- Users will now receive feedback if they try and bind to a controller and it fails
- If a bind fails when dragging and dropping a piece of hardware, the device will no longer be created
Refresh
- A user can no longer initiate a Refresh if there is already one underway
- Efficiency of the Refresh function has been improved
Multi-Site
- Multiple performance and stability improvements
Video
- The events window is no longer shown by default when generating a video report by right click clicking a camera
- Improvement to the speed of the SATA drive management modal
- Losing connection to a NAS drive will no longer cause footage to be lost or not viewable
Other
- Dashboards are no longer incorrectly cropped when being viewed on certain mobile devices
- Fixed an issue where an ‘action’ favourite on the favourite ribbon bar would not perform the action but take you to the device.
- Fixed an issue where opening a PaxLock, using a trigger and action rule, would close after 8 hours
