Paxton10 – new features and updates explained
There have been significant updates to Paxton10 in recent months, designed to make installation easier, system management more efficient, and sites even more secure.
If you haven’t updated your Paxton10 system recently, now is the perfect time.
What’s new?
Paxton10 I/O Connectors – Building automation made simple
The new Paxton10 I/O Connectors provide a useful addition to the Paxton10 range. They work alongside Triggers and Actions allowing Paxton10 to respond automatically to events such as a token being presented, a door opening, or an access decision being made. This makes it easy to automate tasks and integrate with a wider range of building systems.
Using the connectors, devices such as switches, sensors, monitoring points and door contacts can control equipment including lighting, heating, air conditioning, water, lift, and alarms.
Three connector options are available:
- I/O Connector – 8 inputs and 4 outputs
- Input Connector – 16 inputs
- Output Connector – 8 outputs
The Paxton10 I/O connectors are available to buy from our approved distribution partners, now.
Paxton10 software enhancements – Get more from your system free of charge
For improved installation, support and commissioning, the Paxton10 software now includes:
- PaxLock commissioning tools – A range of new features to make commissioning, troubleshooting diagnosis and customer handover quicker than ever before.
- Remote server reboot – To simplify remote support and reduce the need for site visits, System Engineers can remotely reboot Paxton10 servers directly from the software.
- Enhanced user import – Smooth user administration with an enhanced user import function.
- Safer backups – Improved backup handling makes large event restores more robust, while USB backups automatically manage available storage.
Multi-site management and reporting
- Enhanced time zone management – For systems with sites in multiple time zones; events, reports, and device information reliably display the correct time zone, with offsets available to view in a centralised report.
Security and performance
- PIR sensor exit mode – Reduce the risk of false ‘door-forced’ alarms while maintaining accurate event detection.
- Integrated video and access control enhancements – Ongoing updates across the platform continue to enhance performance, usability and flexibility, helping installers get even more from every Paxton10 system.
New to Paxton10?
Paxton10 is our combined access control and video management platform, bringing security systems together in one simple, scalable solution. Its web-based software lets you manage doors, users and video from a single interface, helping you deliver smarter buildings without the complexity of multiple systems.
Designed to be a simple, yet elegant plug-and-play solution, Paxton10 is quick to install and easy to scale as site requirements grow. It supports up to 1,000 doors, 1,000 cameras and 50,000 users, while its simple network-based architecture simplifies installation and removes the need for complex configuration.
Paxton10 also includes a range of free apps to help installers and end users get even more from the system. Paxton Key allows you to use your smart phone or watch to get through the door. Paxton Connect enables remote system management from a smartphone, tablet or browser, and the Paxton Entry app allows users to answer video door entry calls and grant access from anywhere, for systems using Paxton Entry panels on exterior doors. Together, they create a connected security solution that works seamlessly.
