Paxton wins again, with another 2020 award on the horizon

23rd October 2020 – Brighton

Paxton’s next generation access control and video management system Paxton10 wins Access Control Product of the year at the PSI Premier Awards 2020, and the security manufacturer is announced as a ‘Lockdown Hero’ finalist in this year’s Security & Fire Excellence Awards.

Paxton10 has bagged its second award following its win of the Benchmark Innovation Awards back in September this year. The PSI Premier Awards are industry renowned and the winners are decided by PSI readers nominating market leading products and voting for the best technology in its class.

Thomas Faith, the Senior Product Manager for Paxton10 explains: “Having Paxton10 win the PSI Award for ‘Access Control Product of the Year’ is a huge achievement for us, and something the Paxton10 team are immensely proud of. We would like to thank those who voted for us and congratulate the winners in the other categories”.

Paxton10 originally launched in the UK on 4th November 2019. Since then the system has been installed in sites across the UK, Europe, and South Africa before launching into Ireland in September this year. Prior to its launch Paxton10 was developed through years of extensive research, live site testing and direct engagement with Paxton’s installers.

Thomas Faith further explains: “The team at Paxton have worked for more than five years to deliver something we think is truly special to the marketplace. To now see it winning awards drives us to work harder for the next phase”.

The future proof system, which is the first to encompass video management and access control on one platform, has received critically acclaimed feedback from current Paxton installers.

Craig Lovett, from Prestige Security Solutions, said: “I’ll most definitely recommend Paxton10. Like with all Paxton products, the user interface is simple, it is plug-and-play, and it looks good”.

In addition to the second win for Paxton10, last week the British security manufacturer were announced as a finalist at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards, in the ‘Lockdown Hero’ category. Paxton were shortlisted for this brand-new award by a panel of expert judges for their efforts and direction during the first part of the UK Coronavirus lockdown.

Throughout this time Paxton adapted their working processes by supporting their installers with extended credit terms and project support. They developed virtual training and COVID-resources to help share useful and accurate information. Over the summer period they launched vital updates for Net2 which support COVID-secure buildings and are continuing to develop innovative solutions.

These changes took place alongside the manufacturer organising and moving many of their own people to work from home, to help keep them safe. They have also made COVID-secure changes to their own premises, which have worked as efficient testing grounds for their recent and up-and-coming software updates.

Adam Stroud, Paxton’s Chief Executive explained: “Thank you for giving us this recognition. Like so many businesses, we have had to adapt through these unprecedented times. The scale of change that can be achieved in a short space of time is a big take-away for me. In just a few weeks, we completely changed the way we work and remained operational throughout. When you have decisiveness, focus, and a motivated team, you can accomplish the extra-ordinary”.

Alongside these updates and throughout 2020, Paxton have produced an online webinar to help support their customers. It is based on the UK Government guidelines and called ‘Paxton’s Definitive Guide to COVID-Secure Buildings’. This is a good starting point which offers guidance to installers and end-users by explaining how they can maximise access control to help make their sites COVID-Secure. Paxton have also created a dedicated area on their website to help people breakdown and understand industry relevant guidance via a series of tutorials, online training modules and new literature.

Hannah Craig, Paxton’s Marketing Communication Manager explains: “It was easy to see that the pace in which new information was published, about creating COVID-Secure sites earlier in the year could be daunting to our installers. We wanted to make things as simple as possible to help keep them going. A team of experts within our organisation read the Government guidelines and developed our definitive guide to COVID-secure buildings in the format of a webinar. From there we developed new literature and a series of tutorial videos. The feedback from our installer base has been great and continues to support us with creative new ideas of how to help in these changing times”.
