Senior SMT Operator – Late Shift

Job Overview

We are currently looking an SMT Operators to join our production team based in our Eastbourne factory on the late shift 15:15 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday & 15:15 to 22:15 Friday which will include a 10% shift premium. You will be required to picking and kitting of the materials to Pick & Place Feeders and subsequent loading of the kitted trolleys along with, performing routine maintenance on the process equipment according to the daily, weekly, monthly total productive maintenance schedules.

Job role

  • Undertaking automated and hand assembly of PCBA’s to IPC-A610 standards (Class 2)
  • Using PCB layouts, Bills of Materials (BOM) part lists and written instructions to assemble, rework and/or reassemble units and sub-assemblies.
  • Assisting with the inventory management of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) stock and appropriate storage. To include booking in of PCB’s and Tape & Reeled stock. Ensure the correct discipline is in place for the ASM Storage Towers.
  • Operating automated and manual assembly equipment such as Pick and Place, Solder Screen Printer, Re-flow Oven, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Selective Solder equipment.
  • Break-out and testing of all PCBA’s using either the Paxton Access Test System (PATS) and associated test jig, or the Smart Test stand-alone test jigs.
  • Developing, maintaining and fine-tuning programming for all equipment used in SMT related machines used for PCB assembly.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives for efficiency improvements in the area.

 

Skills and Experience 

  • Solid experience working on an SMT Pick & Place line is essential.
  • Some experience leading and mentoring a small is essential.
  • Institute for Printed Circuits IPC- A-610 trained is advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of electronics and components.
  • Understanding of best working practices in a SMT environment.
  • Ability and desire to improve quality standards and a great eye for detail.
