People of Paxton

Eileen Reed, U.S. Field Training Manager

19th April 2021 – Brighton

In this month’s edition of ‘People of Paxton’, we spoke to Eileen Reed, U.S. Field Training Manager about her role at Paxton Inc., and learn what she gets up to when not training Paxton’s U.S. installers.

Eileen has worked for Paxton for just over four years bringing a wealth of experience from a variety of industries. She explains: “I started at Paxton in January 2017, and I have been in the training field since 1993. This was most recently with an audio visual integrator working in the healthcare field. Prior to that I worked for the second largest insurance company in the U.S. for about 13 years.”

As a Field Training Manager Eileen and her team are responsible for educating access control installers across the U.S. on how to successfully install our products and systems. Eileen continues: “My team and I are responsible for ensuring our installers and distributors are familiar with our products. We work with them to promote smooth installations for their customers. Our aim is to get our customers excited about Paxton products, and show them how easy it really is to install and maintain them.”

Like many people within the access control industry, our training teams have had to adapt quickly because of the global pandemic and social restrictions. Eileen explains that although there were challenges for her team, they continued to successfully implement their training programs: “The past 13 months have been challenging for everyone. For the training team it meant rethinking the way we do our entire job and making training available virtually in a very short time. The biggest project we had so far in 2021 was the U.S. launch of Paxton10, and virtually training over 400 people in just over two months.”

When asked what her favourite part about working for Paxton is, Eileen said: “The people I work with are extraordinary. My team are so smart and dedicated, which makes my job that much easier. The other teams here at Paxton Inc. are helpful, kind, bright and sincere. I look forward to being able to return to the Greenville office (when it’s safe to do so) and get to see everyone in person again!”

Outside of work, Eileen has an important role with a local health charity. She explains: “I am the Chairperson for the Board of Directors of a charity that provides money to patients who are currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. These funds are for everyday expenses to help patients with rent, utilities, car repairs and other costs of daily living, so they don’t have to worry about those things while in treatment.”

Eileen and her husband are also huge baseball fans. She said: “My husband and I have season tickets for our favourite team in Cleveland, Ohio. Spectators are now allowed in stadiums at reduced capacity, so we look forward to spending our weekends at the ballpark.”
