People of Paxton

Jordanna Tooke, Brand & Design Manager

18th March 2021 – Brighton, United Kingdom

In 2021 we will be introducing you to the people behind the products in our new feature, People of Paxton. Every month we will talk to a different member of the Paxton team from different departments and markets to give you an insight into the people behind the scenes who make Paxton a leading player in the Access Control industry.

This month we spoke to Jordanna Tooke, Brand & Design Manager, one of the longest serving members of our Marketing Communications team.

Jordanna said: “I’ve worked at Paxton for just over 12 years now, however my very first day was delayed due to heavy snow so I couldn’t get anywhere near the office! I previously worked for a small publishing house, in marketing for a luxury furniture retailer, as well as a design agency where I worked on a project to create the bike livery for a British superbike racing team.”

In her current role at Paxton, Jordanna manages the company’s visual brand identity, overseeing the creation and design of a range of materials for several projects at any one time. “As part of the senior team in Marketing Communications I spend a lot of time balancing project plans to ensure our team can support with the visual elements for the wider needs of the company, such as: product launches, installer updates and content for our internal communication channels.”

In her role as Brand & Design Manager, Jordanna is the gatekeeper for the Paxton brand: “It’s my responsibility to look at our materials through the eyes of our key audiences, to make sure that everything we do is striving for world-class and representing our brand in the best way possible.”

Looking forward to this year, Jordanna explains the kind of work her team will be focussing on in 2021: “Video is always something we’re asked for more of – promotional videos for our products, ‘how-to’ videos for our technical audience, and videos that show the people/personal side of the company – watch this space!”

And the best bit about working for Paxton? For Jordanna it’s the people she gets to work with: “The team that I work with are amazing – it sounds like a cliché to say ‘it’s the people’, but it really is the people that I get to work with every day that makes work fun. Knowing that there’s a group of friendly people willing to help each other to achieve our goals is a great thing. Paxton people genuinely care about each other and the work we do.”

Outside of work Jordanna loves nothing more than going to see her favourite bands: “I love going to watch live music and aim to see as many bands and artists as possible, or as many as my bank balance will allow… but the smaller the better, I can’t stand festivals! Stadium gigs can have a great atmosphere, but nothing beats actually being able to see the people on stage.”
