A throughly interesting meeting for a Cosoa registered caravan park requiring controlled access. Dave Smith clearly explained the benifits of Net2U Vs standalone system and listed the required parts to complete task. A key selling point that was exceptional was that Dave offered to return to customer and give them training on the Net2U software - I think this level of support sold Paxton to the customer - Will update on customer response.. My initial impressions- Very pleased with support as my knowledge of door access is zero! Many thx Max Pritchard

Paxton are useually quite confident and offer the right technical advise. On this occaission, the lady I spoke to was unsure and at first insisted that the database cannot be backed up automatically. I had to push a little, asked her to check with someone else, then she said it was possible. Now, I dont expect everyone to know every little detail on the ins and outs of a particular system, however I do expect that support operators need to seek advise from others when they do not know and not just try and fob someone off! As with any help line "It all depends who picks up the phone" Because I had never worked on an access control system before it was a very, very steep learning curve for me which involved several calls to Paxton. It has to be said that the last gentleman I talked with was very sympathetic, understanding, and talked me through things in a very orderly manner. By carefully listening to my fault description, what I had done to try and resolve it he very quickly pointed me in the right direction. Others i am afraid took me down a route which I knew was going to lead me no where. By that I mean, although I am not an access control engineer I have excellent electronic backround with 40 years experience. I just knew that being guided down the road of checking continuity of cables in ceilings when I had only replaced a panel was going to be fruitless, i was correct..

As Normal Service is with a smile ? however it would be nice, not to be told stuff, which is not fully correct. Just as it is easier for yourselves. I.e Like. It is not ment to work on 3.28, when it does ? or not to press repeatly too, when it does work. Simple things like. When did you buy it ? and The battery voltage need to be over ??? this to get max range and use or Have you Tried a new battery ???????? would be more usefull when talking about a battery product ? This would of been better than, Its the envoiment it fitted to ? get a another set and build a test kit and try it on that ? Instant help to push us, to be able to correct the issue quickly and with little fuss is the idea. Which is what I had come to expect from yourselves, sadly I feel you failed this time. but I bet you dont next time ?

During a meeting with a potential client, Dave Smith was asked to demonstrate the NET2 access system, with a view to it being deployed at a multi access site. There were many tricky questions regarding the clients' requirements which Dave handled expertly and was never found wanting, the client later contacting me to say how impressed they were. Dave's professionalism demonstrated during his presentation has gone a long way to securing this particular contract, something that we at PDP Security are very grateful for.

I have come to Paxton systems from the IT industry and I am used to dealing with, often ineffective so called help desks, Paxton are a breath of fresh air, the staff are very helpful and very knowledgeable. The training was very thorough and was exactly what was required as we had some apprentices in attendance and the session was very "hands on" and gave them an opportunity to play around with the software. I was expecting to have to hold a practical session afterwards but there was no need. The same afternoon, I was able to send one of the apprentices to a site where he programmed on 8 additional doors via a TCP/IP interface and he got it right first time. Fantsatic. Our customer has been looking for a system to be introduced to their site which would be suitable for their needs and future proof. They have experienced other access systems in the past which have proved to unreliable and not suitable for expansion or upgrade without complete renewal and the cost/disruption caused.

I would like to say that, the whole of the last 12 months I have been on many courses and I found the Paxton course to very good and informative. Not many courses has the hands on, installers do need hands on. I have worked on the Paxton system for many years and fouund it to be user and installation friendly. And the good thing about it, its not mind boggling like some systems I have worked on over the 22 years as an Engineer. I would strongly recommend to anyone to go on this course.

More reporting functionality within the next release of Net2 would be good, not just in regards to modifying the roll call report but for the entire system my suggestion would be to adapt the "Events" app to be more of a reporting tool to allow operators to create their own personalised reports with more allowance for the use of filters. the current system is very restrictive.

Thanks guys excellent help i receved today when commisioning some net2 plus units. I was having problems assigning the units with fixed ip addresses, for some reason 1 of the units would take the ip address i wanted to give it. With help from you guys we found the problem to be my wireless card on my laptop blocking the action (strange but true) disabled the wireless card and away we went sorted. Thanks again

I am left trying to fix the problem myself, due to the lack of a DB fix or export / import routine. The proposal is to restore from backup without any idea of what the problem is or when it occurred - because the V3 software is working fine. The alternative being an in-situ upgrade which is likely to leave me in a worse situation because V4 won't import the data, but will render V3 unusable. Not a happy bunny - customer service good, but product options poor.

recently bought and fitted an EASYPROX, great product ,phoned your help line after fitting because i couldnt get the unit to read the fobs , it turns out you need to place them end on in the middle of the opaque square of the unit ,not just pass them over it , like a normal reader, still i will know in the future ,as the instructions dont mention how precise you have to be :-)

The usual thoughtful response to a problem which, in some 20 years of using Paxton products, I had never before encountered - rapid bleeping of Touchlock when both Keypad and Release worked correctly in isolation. The problem was found to be a faulty PSU which was outputting 13v DC - but was clearly also leaking a degree of AC into the system.

No problem with the service. Just disappointed I am not much better off and still can't have what I wanted. I take on board the point about not giving out Read Only Users to the database and the reason being when upgrading the whole table structures may change. My response to that would be that a well designed application that sits on top of a database wouldn't require such significant changes to existing tables thus not effecting a report. But Oh well.....

Liked that someone was on phone asap. I am brand new to your system and Access. I spoke to Steve who seems very nice on the phone. I was installing your panels today and landing all the network cables between the classics. I was reading where I have to use orange, orange and white and grn and grn and white, then take the remaining and place on last screw terminal. This will include a 2 blue and 2 blue and whites and 2 brown and two brown and white. Steve told me I could use any of those wires, then said to use the brown and then said I could use the Blue and blue and whites for a total of 4 wires. being new at this it made me fell unsure of what Steve told me because he gave me to many options and did not really explain what the cables were for and your written instructions are not very clear. I would greatly appreciate if Steve did not know who sent this as I am sure I will need him more very soon as I have a 54 door system to start soon. This is my second or third time speaking with Steve and myself and myhelper just do not feel real confident in what he tells us. I really like the lady in the UK she seems to very on top of it totally. if you have any questions please call me anytime Mike Landers 216 533 0301

I have had an issue with an alarm wav file being played on a server PC. The advice i was given was that an audible alarm could be sounded on the server PC through a wav file. Through either misunderstanding or lack of communication, I was unaware that this file would only play once and could not be looped. This was not acceptable for my customer. I was then in the unenviable position of being customer facing in London (we are Halifax based) and needed help to resolve this problem. Unfortunately the Paxton response was to get a long WAV file from the net (they would be huge if they exist). No-one at Paxton was prepared to do anything further to find a solution. As an installer I cannot take this stance. I have to find a way to make things work. My Paxton experience has been superb up to this point. So much so I have sung the praises of Paxton to all. To be fair, I did get a return call to say that they would look into this in the future. I still believe Paxton are an excellent company, however sometimes when your back is against the wall you need help to find a solution and not a closed door. I have managed to get a techie friend of mine to stitch a wav file together to give me a 15 minute alarm (326MB!) regards Paul Judge Consolidare

I found the whole presentation very proffesional. Ramon and Tom simpilified answers that required a technical answer and had an excellent product knowledge. The KP 50 keypad fitted less than 18 months ago is showing signs of discolouration on some of the keys, There does not seem to be any alternative product that will stand up to the amount of traffic using the keypad.

Hard one to score this - the initial response from "1st line" was not good (I would go so far to say as they didn't read the email!) - When I queried it, someone passed it to 2nd line - they were "very* good - they (Simon) acknowledged my issue, gave me updates, tested the issue and have acknowledged it is a bug - if it wasn't for "1st line" / the initial response (i.e. apparant lack of understanding the issue/problem), I would have scored this as "good" (as Simon's response were good and informative)...

Auch wenn Support nur in Englisch angeboten wird, trotz Sprachbarriere mit Fachbegriffen - kommt man mit Paxton-Support zum Ziel. Gegenüber deutsche Hersteller, Paxton Support ist z. B. auch am Freitag um 19 Uhr verfügbar! Supportmitarbeiter bleiben höflich und geduldig bis Problem vor Ort nicht gelöst wird. Mit einem Rückruf auf Mobiltelefon kann man auch rechnen wenn Hilfe nicht gleich geleistet werden kann und Supporter Rücksprache mit seinen Kollegen halten muss. Eventuelle Fehler werden nicht verneint, sondern anerkannt und mit dem nächsten Update behoben. So kommt man schneller zum Ziel, man hat ein gutes Gefühl und Vertrauen zum Hersteller. Meine Erfahrung mit manche deutsche Hersteller ist anders - diese werden alles tun um Fehler nicht zuzugeben. So bleibt der Errichter mit seine Ungewissheit allein im Regen. Falls man nur Verdacht auf Materialfehler hat, Paxton kompliziert nicht viel – Ersatzgerät wird unglaublich schnell nachgesendet! Bei mir gibt es kein Lieferant der schneller als Paxton Ware ausliefert. Beispiel: eine Bestellung die gegen 19 Uhr im Extranet (Web) abgegeben wird, kommt am nächstem Tag per UPS gegen 10 Uhr an! Aber noch vor dem Support, Außendienst von Paxton in Deutschland leistet ebenso gute Arbeit mit ausführliche und kompetente Beratung sowie regelmäßige aber nicht aufdringliche Betreuung. Produkte sind zuverlässig und einfach einzubauen, Software intuitiv, leicht zu installieren und zu bedienen. Ich finde einfach nichts was ich bemängeln könnte, gehöre zu sehr zufriedenen Kunden und bin während Öffnungszeiten 9-17 Uhr bereit als Referenz diese Angaben persönlich zu bestätigen. Even if support is available only in English, despite language with technical terms - it comes with Paxton support to the goal. Compared to German manufacturers, Paxton support is, for example, available on Friday at 19 clock too! Support staff keep patient until problem will be solved to the ground. With a recall on mobile phone can be counted even if assistance can not be done immediately and supporters consultation with his colleagues must adhere. Any errors are not denied, but acknowledged and resolved with the next update. On this way we are comming faster to the goal, we have a good feeling and confidence to the manufacturer. My experience with some of the German manufacturer is different - they will do everything to not admit their mistakes. So the installer with its uncertainty remains alone in the rain. If you have only suspected material failure, Paxton is uncomplicated - replacement unit will resent incredibly fast! For me there is no supplier to ship goods faster than Paxton. For example, an order is given up to 19 clock in the Extranet (Web), will be delivered at the next day by UPS against 10 clock! But even before the support, sales stuff from Paxton in Germany is making good work with detailed and expert advice and good but not intrusive service. Products are reliable and easy to install, intuitive software to install, easy to use. Simply - I can find nothing fault and belonge to very satisfied customers. We recently bought a business with a paxton access system. We had trouble importing the data base. I spoke with 4 different members of the support team who all dealt with me in exactly the same way - superbly! Once they helped me overcome my technical problem they then had to deal with at IT issue. To my amazement the equipment concerned had a 5 year warranty and I was sent a replacement within days. This really has exceeded my expectations.

I can see Paxton as a well performing manufacturer, definitely above the average. As an input I may suggest Paxton DevTeam to take into consideration the full value chain when developing solutions. This in order to support it's customers to be able to sell Added Value Services based on Paxton productline. Service provided was great and up to the usual standard but this request from a customer does bring up something I hadn't considered before. I was asked to stop users from being to access doors within an area if the failed to fob into the area through the doors controlled with the antipass back. If you think about it, it would be logical to assume if they net2 has not let them into the area why should they be able to access other doors inside the area. I did try defining the readers within the area but as you are aware this had no effect, could this not be addressed in this way?

Kevin attended site and met with myself and Chris Boyd. Kevin setup a demo net2 kit with the long range reader. Due the location we were unsure if the read range would be suitbale. However Kevin was able to demostrate a read range of 10-15m from inside the site and 5-10m from inside. We will be ordering equipment shortly for this installation

I do have a slight issue - not really a problem and that is that you obviously have a tier level of technical help and my main installer sometimes feels that the person on the end of the phone may be that first level and you can feel that they may have to hunt for the answer. Again not really a major issue just a comment. We have all got to start somewhere.

I had a hugely positive impression from the second I walked in the door. The complete facility was immaculate and uniformed in terms of security hardware throughout. It was as if Paxton was saying: "Lesson 1 is how a system should (or could) look..." Everyone was friendly, not just Steven and Andy, but the receptionist and workshop staff too. The conference room was both informative and functional: Informative in terms of the excellent demo-boards; functional in terms of space and facilities to carry out the practical exercises. I found the instruction both useful and interesting. For me, it was pitched about right - having already installed a Net2 Classic system as part of a 'workshop exercise' on my City and Guilds training course. Steven and Andy's technique of delivering their presentations by having alternating pockets of theory followed by practicals worked well and held everyones attention. Moreover, they were proactive in helping the individual groups progress through the set exercises. I was also very impressed with Paxton's generosity when it came to tea, coffee, breakfast and lunch. All of our needs were extremely well catered for, for which I am grateful. All in all, an excellent day. I like Paxton as a company, its equipment is simple, yet cutting edge, its price range seems competitive and its underpinning philosophy demonstrates to me that the company has 'good roots', endurance and great potential for the future. Causeway Security Solutions - as a developing installation company - considers these traits to be absolutely fundamental in any business partnership or customer relationship. I got a lot out of the visit. Thank you.

I learned a lot as I am sales, not technical, so this sort of course is always handy. However, as usual the course was aimed at the technical installer, not on what Paxton could do over the competition, or how to present & sell it. As a sales person, I want to be able to present & cost to a client on the spot (using my laptop) for the smaller systems, and - having a client who is hot-to-trot - be able to sign them up then and there. I also want quoting to be as easy as possible, and need a presentation & quote programme that will fill in most of the background equipment the client couldn't care about if I just type in my requirements. This always enables up-selling - an e-mail or letter 2 days after telling the end user what we are going to install just doesn't excite the punter! You could do with a more end-user sales pitch, with competition discussed and objections overcome, and how to up-sell using a laptop presentation. I have designed myself one for CCTV & intruder as there is none suitable on the market. It was a useful course for me 'cos I can sell and needed to know more about the product as I am not technical, but to really increase your penetration, you could do with turning installers into salesmen. We have been installing your Products for over 18 months now and we have found the product and the service from yourselves excellent. However, we were not informed about the scheme that you have with regards to the points system, and were only informed of this today after enquiring about an issue with a product that we had on our shelf. Within those 18 months, we have supplied and installed over 25 Eaziprox, at least 3 compact, possibly 3 x switch2 systems and 2 net2 systems all of which have points available but we are unable to claim these points due to not being properly informed. As of which, we're not overly impressed, as those points could mean more display units for us to display more of your systems and possibly bring in more work for us and sell more of your ranges. Other than that, overall an excellent service and product.

It always a pleasure contacting any member of staff at Paxton Access whether the technical query is very involved, or just confirmation of operation of something simple. All members of staff are always most helpful. the products are well thoughtout, easy to use and reliable. The equipment is user friendly for the client and logical for sales and installation engineers and we recommend Paxton whenever good quality access control equipment is required, even when we are only providing the automated gate or turnstil and not the access system.

Spoke to 2 or 3 people there in relation to a server upgrade to 4.14, as we were having new readers installed that required this version. Upgrade went without a hitch and then the readers stopped responding in one of our sites. With your assistance the fault was narrowed down to incorrect installation wiring in the problem site that was only identified by the upgrade. Excellent service as always!! Thanks - David

Top Job, Paxton Tech's are always very pleasant and helpful, from 07:00 right through the day! They know there stuf inside out and upside down. I wish more companies would take a leaf out of Paxtons's quality support service. I have been installing Paxton Access from 1999. It is sad that your technician knew nothing of your old 505-525 High Security Interface. Whilst old (my instructions carry the code HSI v2.1, 20.6.94, I would have thought your equipment is made to last that long! Anyway both the 2 people I spoke to were more than helpful, even at 7pm last night so "thank you". Meanwhile please ensure your technicians are briefed about older equipment which is still in service.

We wanted ISO cards for a Switch2 system, so we could print on them. Paxton support told us that if we ordered 10 or 25 packs of green cards we would get the new ISO cards not the old clamshell cards. We have tried to order a 25 pack from Norbain and ADI and both suppliers have sent us the old clamshell cards. Furthermore even though we can't get the correct cards from distribution, Paxton refuse to supply us direct with the cards we have quoted the customer at less than list price, which means that they want us to sell their products at 0% profit, which is not ecomonically viable for any business in this industry. Why the hell did Paxton change the type of cards in a pack and not change the part number, so at least distribution would be able to tell us what they have in stock and a part number change would make it possible to order the packs our customers needs for their application. This is very unusual for Paxton, to be playing silly-buggers.

Ray worked very hard with the customers server to load our software and configure the software. The problem was that the server was running very slow and was so over taxed by the ONSSI Software that it made the job impossible. I think the customer understood the probem.

But it was down to my own error where i had used some jelly crimp connector blocks that had not made a good connection. After i had changed this connection everything was working perfect. I purchased some time ago one of your Access Controls for my garden office which when installed last week appeared to be faulty. I telephoned your Technical Department and spoke with your technician named Arthur. Arthur was very helpful and advised me to call back when I was in my garden office so he could go through some tests to ascertain the problem. Arthur advised the department was open until 7.00pm. Yesterday evening I called the department when in my garden office and spoke with your technician named John. John was absolutely brilliant and advised me exactly what tests to perform to see if the unit was at fault. After several performed functions, John confirmed I did have a faulty reader and to call Arthur the following day who would set-up a unit-exchange. This I did and the exchange was actioned professionally by Arthur. I feel I must commend your two technicians - Arthur and John. They were absolutely proffessional, patient and polite and I could not wish to speak with any two persons better. I wish to thank Paxton and these two employees. It is absolutely assuring to use a Company who's Technical Department, when one has a problem is there and ready to help and immediately put right! I thank these two chaps and your Company. Excellent facility to have at the end of a telephone call - first class customer service which differentiates Paxton. My frustration with recent issue came due to PSU failure, the design of the new one resulted in having to purchase a new design unit complete with steel housing - since our system is integrated in to a fail safe alarm system and fire alarm system replacing the complete steel cabinet was not an option (would have resulted in more expense due to complexity of wiring of alarm systems) - we had to remove old design PSU from original steel cabinet and replace with new design PSU out of new steel cabinet - new style PSU is NOT compatible with old design steel case - results in NEW PSU placement within OLD steel case un-secure. In addition to the above getting a direct FOC replacement PSU would have resulted in more effort and time which was not cost effective - original supplier documents were not at hand and new supplier would not support exchange since they did not supply old unit.

Many Thanks to Tom Cowling for coming down to Chaucer to help with the planned expansion of the Net2 system and for other help with the existing system. We look forward to working more closely with Paxton in the future at Chaucer and with installations at other sites. Tom obviously knows the products inside out and had an excellent knowledge of the new products which R&D are working on. A very worthwhile meeting.

A well paced day with good and comprehensive content. We came away feeling that we now properly know and understand the range and how the Paxton portfolio fits together. The day was well worth the investment in terms of time out of the office. Also, visiting the Paxton HQ confirmed what is seen in their products and literature, i.e. that their attention to detail and the commitment to the installer and their clients is 100%. Thanks. p.s. the hospitality is pretty good as well.

Probably the most useful seminar I have ever attended. I was impressed by the professionalism of the presenters who covered the Paxton product range fully, seamlessly and answered all technical queries on the spot. The afternoon hands on session with Paxton products reinforced the mornings technical presentation and expanded on that knowledge as only experience with real products can. We are not a registered installer of Paxton Access Systems but do come across a need to link our EPOS till systems with the NET2 product. Using the ISO cards means our customers only need to carry 1 card for door access and EPOS discount schemes. After receiving a new batch of 500 cards (1500 in total so far) the printed coding on the carry wallets was missing. This panicked us slightly. I contacted the technical helpline on the information card supplied with the new packs. The chap on the end of the phone was brilliant, pleasant and re-assuring. He allayed my fears and i can now process my customers order with haste. Thank you. Also, if your sales team could send me some more information on the NET2 system, I maybe able to sell some of your products to our customers. We use a registered installer of Lancashire Lock & Safe in Rochdale, to supply and install our door access requirements. I do not want it bypass LL&S, but just have more technical in-sight into what your systems can offer. Thanks again

I needed to call today as I was about to install 2 kp75 keypads in place of 2 existing keypads. The only reason for calling was that there was no installation notes in either box . but aftre speaking with you , all the installation was sucessfull , and I must say I was very pleased with the equipment.
