A Look Back at What Has Happened at Paxton in 2022

After social distancing measures and many Paxton people working from home for almost two years, we all fully came back to our global offices in the first part of the year and were able to re-connect with our customers face to face all over the world. This year, we celebrated our Founder Tony Ratcliffe’s retirement. Additionally, we launched a new series of cameras and innovative software updates, alongside a team and office expansion, which was one of the things that we are most proud of achieving this year.

Join us to take a look back.

Our Founder Tony Ratcliffe Retired

37 years after founding Paxton, Tony Ratcliffe retired from his role of Group Chairman this year. His son Sholto Ratcliffe has taken over the role as non-executive Group Chairman, working alongside our CEO Adam Stroud.

“With Paxton, I have achieved more than I ever thought I could. This is simply because of the challenges and the learning I have gone through. I hope that every employee can do what I have done and follow that path, which is to be challenged, to learn, and to get there in the end.”

– Tony Ratcliffe, Founder of Paxton

Charity & Community Initiatives

Mind in Brighton & Hove

Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AZFA)

This year, we voted to support Mind in Brighton & Hove as the Charity of the Year in our UK office. In the US, we supported Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. We raised over £5,400 at our charity days, including breakfast sandwiches and various activities.

Dare to Dream Mentoring Programme

We returned to the Dare to Dream mentoring programme for the second year and expanded our participation by including our Eastbourne employees. Ten Paxton mentors have been partnered up with 30 Year 9 students from Patcham High School in Brighton, and Willingdon Community School in Eastbourne. The programme aims to challenge and inspire young people to change the way they think, and help them build confidence in setting big life goals with inspirational assemblies.

“We did not want to join the programme as a one off because we believe that to make real change and a difference within our local communities, we need to consistently reach out and offer support.”
– Kate Hotson, Projects and Events Manager

They are invited to apply for a chance to secure a three-month paid internship in our Development department, and £10,000 financial support for their final year. This year nearly 100 students attended our Scholarship Open Day.

“Through participating in the scholarship programme, students will gain interesting and relevant industry experience without taking a gap year. They can also establish a relationship with us that can potentially create a career path after graduation.”
