A brand new app for Paxton Installers

Our new Paxton Installer app launched globally on 20th October 2020. It has been designed as a centralised platform to give our installers instant access to product information and installation tools on site.

Since we started manufacturing security technology in 1985, we have developed an ever-expanding library of literature and video content about our products and services. Sometimes, finding the right information quickly, when you need it, can be a bit of a challenge. We wanted to improve this experience for our customers to make their jobs easier.

The simple-to-use pocket tool provides digital access to up-to-date product specifications, technical documents, video instructions and more. Plus installers can now gain easy access to the Paxton Knowledge Base, managed by our Technical Support team it provides common troubleshooting tips and answers to a range of frequently asked questions.

To make life even easier while on site, we have designed the app’s search function with a seamless experience in mind. Individual product information can be accessed within seconds via the app’s built in bar code scanner. Another benefit of the app’s functionality is the ability to favorite link documents for quick access. You can also share information with your colleagues or end users via email, text, Airdrop, or WhatsApp.

All documents and videos are also available offline as they are downloadable within the app. This makes it possible to access information when internet access is a problem.

In addition, installers can direct dial Paxton’s technical support while in app, and find a list of their local distributors to make sourcing products or getting installation advice quick and easy.

The app is available to download now on iOS and Android smart-devices using the following links:

IFSEC Global Host COVID-Secure with Net2 Webinar

20th November 2020 – Brighton

Over the summer Paxton developed COVID-secure updates for their flagship access control system Net2, as well as a no-nonsense webinar based on the UK Government Guidelines- ‘working safely during the coronavirus’.  This 30-minute webinar was well received by Paxton installers, with over 2000 attendees. Paxton later made the webinar available on-demand in September this year.

The webinar has now been updated with new information to highlight the latest features to be added to the access control system. This coincides with the completion of Paxton’s series of COVID-secure solutions for Net2.
Paxton have partnered with IFSEC Global who are currently hosting the latest version of the webinar on their website, until the 19th of December 2020. It will also remain available on Paxton’s website and online training platform to help support their installers to create COVID-secure systems.

Subjects covered in the webinar include:

Contactless access control – hygienic access via entry and exit points, moving away from touch-based devices, specifically referenced in UK government guidelines

Flexible access permissions – meet social distancing guidelines by limiting access to high traffic areas and implementing a one-way flow of movement

• Occupancy management – assign visitors and staff to designated areas as well as monitor people numbers with alerts to support social distancing

• Thermal scanning – use cameras to support health and wellbeing in high security areas and identify people that could be at risk

Checkpoint Control – set designated checkpoints in specific areas of a building where users must be validated before they can access other areas

Watch the webinar on the IFSEC Global website

Paxton have also published a vast library of COVID-resources for installers on their website, along with new Net2 tutorials to help implement the innovative updates. These are a great starting point for installers to get to grips with how access control can help minimise risk on site during the pandemic.

Paxton complete Net2 updates and launch Installer app

29th October 2020 – Brighton

Paxton have continued creating new products and solutions throughout 2020. The new developments include a series of innovative and enhancing COVID-secure updates for Net2, as well as a brand-new Installer app.

The last year has been unprecedented for many businesses in a variety of industry sectors. Many companies have had to adapt working practices and company plans due to the coronavirus. Social distancing measures and government guidelines in many countries have changed the way people are able to move around commercial and public buildings.

Paxton’s Global Chief Executive Adam Stroud explains: “Due to the nature of the pandemic, we saw that the initial appetite for security installations was vastly reduced. As the initial shock receded, it became clear the major role the security industry has to play in helping businesses to keep their people safe”.

At the start of the 2020, and in the early stages of the global pandemic, Paxton had international product launches planned throughout the year. The technology manufacturer decided to adapt these plans to suit the current situation and began creating new updates to help reduce the risk of infection on sites installed with Net2. Alongside these software enhancements, Paxton has built a new Installer app for smart devices which will help their customers with technical information and onsite installations.

Adam Stroud further explains: “There are certain things such as this pandemic, that happen outside of our direct control, and where possible I think it’s important to try to see the opportunity to do something fresh and different. The new updates for Net2 are just that, and I am very pleased we have invested in the development of an app to make things simpler for our installers”.

Net2 COVID-secure updates

Net2 Pro users can now benefit from the entire series of additional COVID-secure features that Paxton have developed this year. They all work simply and seamlessly together to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus around populated buildings.
Adam Stroud continues: “Despite the difficult circumstances, we understood it was important to develop new ideas and make our presence felt, reassuring customers, and demonstrating that we continue to push forward even when times get tough. Over the last 4 months we have released new versions of Net2 software with Flexible Access Permissions, Occupancy Management, Checkpoint Control, and have more additional Thermal Scanner integrations”.

• Flexible Access Permissions – help meet social distancing guidelines by limiting high traffic and allow a one-way flow of movement

• Occupancy Management – enable users to control and monitor how many people are on their site, in any given area

• Checkpoint Control – allows users to set up designated checkpoints and monitor as well as approve staff and visitors entering those areas

• Thermal Scanner integrations – adds the use of cameras to support health and wellbeing in high security areas as well as identifies people that could be at risk of infecting others

You can find out further information on these updates on Paxton’s Net2 product page.

Individual product information can be accessed within seconds via the apps built in bar code scanner. It will provide direct digital access to their Knowledge Base, which consists of up-to-date product specifications, technical documents, instructions as well as answers to FAQs.
Adam Stroud explains “We are always looking for opportunities to improve the service we provide to our installers. Our ever-growing library of information about our products ranges from videos to technical documents and sales information. Installers finding what they need on the go can often be a challenge and making this easier has been one of the key objectives of the Paxton Installer app”.

Another benefit of the app for installers is the ability to favourite link documents for quick access and share information with colleagues or end users via email, text, airdrop, or WhatsApp. All documents and videos are also available offline as they are downloadable in app, making it possible to access information when internet access is a problem.
