Paxton scores with the KNVB Campus

The KNVB Sports Centre in the central town of Zeist, Netherlands has become the beating heart of Dutch football. The KNVB Campus is the training and preparation ground for all of the Netherlands national football teams.

Requirement

The campus had an outdated access control system running on Windows XP, which no longer functioned to the required standard. Peter de Klein, Technical Facilities Manager at KNVB explained: “We had plans to expand the KNVB Campus, to include a new Training Centre, Sports Medical Centre, and team hotel”. When the renovation project began, it provided the perfect opportunity replace the legacy access control system.

“The KNVB Campus required an easy-to-install access control system. Paxton offered the most user-friendly software to replace the old system. Together with Paxton, Kuijpers were able to propose a solution to meet the requirements of the system in one day.”

Solution

The solution was found by technical service provider Kuijpers, who specialise in building, designing and maintaining technical installations. “Paxton’s Net2 system offered the most user-friendly software to replace the old access control” explains Wilco Wanzing, Project Lead at Kuijpers. “The products are easy to install and the software is simple, which is why I felt Paxton was the right system for the KNVB Campus”.

The new access control system is integrated with active directory, this means that users are created in active directory and automatically synchronised with Net2. This provides the advantage of simple user management, coupled with the benefit of straightforward software. Wilco continues: “You can navigate the Net2 software easily, the menus are comprehensive and clear”.

The National Office, Training Centre, Rinus Michels Dug-Out, the stand, team hotel and Sports Medical Centre were all included on the Net2 system. P50 readers were installed across all buildings, alongside 20 PaxLocks in the team hotel. The car park entrance was fitted with two Entry stainless steel panels and a Nedap ANPR reader to enable efficient access for vehicles into the site.

Result

Peter de Klein was pleased with the straightforward nature of Net2 and the advantage of integrating with other solutions whilst maintaining centralised management. The simplicity of the system is important within the organisation, action can now be taken quickly and information can be filtered and read clearly in the Net2 software.
