Based on their familiarity with Paxton products, the academies’ bursar reached out to Paxton directly to request a demonstration of Paxton10, combined access control and video management. Mike Boughey, Regional Sales Manager, visited the academy to demo the system. He explained how they could benefit from the complete Paxton10 solution, without the need to integrate any third-party camera hardware. Mike also described how to search for an experienced Paxton installer in their local area, using the Find an Installer tool on the Paxton website.

Matt Rodden, Director of Unison Integrated Technology, said: “When the Trust got in touch, they knew exactly what they wanted from their new system. We were asked specifically for Paxton10 because they needed to add video management to their sites and wanted both access control and video management on the same system.”

Paxton10 combines next-generation access control and video management on one user-friendly, online interface. The system allows users to manage who has access to their building and when, from the same software that provides video footage of what happens on site.

There are now multiple sites within the nine-academy trust all secured with Paxton10 and managed on one system using the Multi-site feature, which allows up to 100 sites to be connected via a single server.

A total of 66 doors are secured, using a combination of Paxton10 – Keypad Readers and PaxLock Pro, Paxton’s wireless battery-powered door handles. 36 Paxton10 PRO series cameras have also been installed, to meet the new video management requirement that provided the catalyst to update the system. The high-performance PRO series cameras include a 2.8mm mini-bullet, vari-focal bullet and turret option, all providing 8MP, 4K resolution with a huge 256GB of edge storage.

Unison Integrated Technology also installed Paxton’s video door entry products, that work seamlessly alongside Paxton10 as part of a networked access control system. Using the Entry panels and monitors, the Reception and Administrative teams can visually verify visitors before granting access to the premises.

When asked about how their clients are getting on with the new system, Matt explained: “They’re very happy with Paxton10. They jumped straight into the software and completed the setup themselves. The platform is very user-friendly, so they really didn’t need us once the hardware had been installed. This is the level of simplicity we’ve come to expect from Paxton products.”

The future

As additional budget becomes available, more academies will be added to their existing system. This is made even simpler and more cost-effective with Paxton10 Multi-site, as no additional servers are required. Each new site can simply be added to the existing system.

Matt concludes: “Our client is very keen to continue growing their Paxton system. Since the initial installation, we’ve installed an additional eight new Paxton10 cameras, as the funds had been freed up.”
